If you are an Episcopalian:
If you have been previously confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church, you may become a communicant of Saint Mark’s by personally requesting a letter of transfer from your previous church. The Parish Office has a directory of all Episcopal Churches, with addresses and phone numbers, if you need help locating the contact information for your previous church.
If you are a member of another Christian denomination:
If you have been baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in any Christian denomination, you may become a “baptized member” of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church. Please provide the Parish Office with your birth date and place, and the date and location of your baptism.
If you have not been baptized:
If you have not been baptized previously, contact the Parish Office to speak with Father Greg to arrange a baptism. The dates for baptism recommended by our Book of Common Prayer occur throughout the church year. Please speak with Father Greg for the exact dates.
If you wish to be confirmed or received:
The Book of Common Prayer defines Confirmation in the Episcopal Church as “the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Scripture through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.” Adults may choose to become part of the Episcopal Church through confirmation or reception. Persons who have been confirmed in another denomination by a bishop in the apostolic succession are received by the bishop rather than confirmed. Youth Confirmation classes and adult inquirers’ classes are offered periodically. Please contact us or call the Parish Office at 972-253-7124 for more information.
