New Adult Forum begins Nov. 6 – Please join us!

The new book for the upcoming Adult Education Class at St Mark’s will be an exciting and refreshing way to develop a new comfort level in how to explain one’s faith to others. Timothy Keller has done a masterful job with his book The Reason for God – Belief in the Age of Skepticism. It is available for a reasonable amount in paperback, at Barnes and Noble, and Amazon, christianbooks.com.

It made the New York Times’ Best Seller List a few years ago, and promises to be a more enjoyable, and clearly less unsettling read than our last book which may have stirred some, but definitely got us thinking about the roots of our faith. Hopefully we can increase the size of our 8:30 Adult Ed Class and have some engaging and productive discussion, as we continue to grow in our St Mark’s family.

Join us for a Musical Evening of Praise & Thanksgiving!

Music is one of the chief ways in which we set the tone for worship, praise God, and connect with one another. Please join St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for an Evening of Praise & Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 10 in the Parish Hall.

The event is sponsored by the Women’s Guild and will kick off at 6:00PM with a potluck dinner. Janice Ames, one of our parishioners, will share with us her musical talents as we join together in renditions from the Episcopal Songbook.

Janice Ames has been on staff in several local churches and, for the last several years, she has served with her husband Ed as lay ministers for churches that have lost their musical staff. Janice has sung in church for as long as she can remember. Her Father was an Evangelist and she has served the Lord from a very tender age.

She heads her own company, Janice Maria Music, performing at wedding ceremonies, receptions and private parties and has offered private instruction for piano and vocals.

Please INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! This promises to be a wonderful evening of fellowship and is a great way to introduce your family and friends to St. Mark’s and the music of our faith. We’ll be singing some old favorites, as well as selections that may be new to you!

Please R.S.V.P. to Paulette Austin and let her know how many guests you will be bringing.
